Johnny Cash - “ The Man in Black”

32” x 40” - Mixed Media on Board - 2016

$3650

“ This piece is from my personal collection - my absolute favorite. All of the art work I do are originals and custom in some way, but this piece was unique because I used a collage technique on the jacket that I hadn’t done on any other work before this.

I found album covers, photos, and other print media - printed them out, cut them up and layered them all out in a pattern for maximum impact. Then glued them down and glazed them with several coats of black acrylic wash until the saturation was correct but the images could still be seen.

The background is simple diluted black acrylic washes over the untreated board. The render on the hands and head are flawless. This thing is just spectacular in real life. The intensity of the gaze is amazing - his eyes will follow you around the room from where ever your viewing it from. Over the years I’ve had this piece displayed in different areas of my home, loaned it out to wedding venues and galleries - but just never wanted to part with it. - until now.

Any private collector will really enjoy having “The Man in Black” displayed anywhere they want to make an impact on a room and the people in it. “

Willie Nelson - “Spotlight”

40” x 44” - Mixed Media on Board - 2019

$3250

“ This piece is also one I’ve held onto for some time. I’m a big Willie Nelson fan, and he makes a fantastic subject because of all of the lines and creases in the face and hands. This particular image was chosen because I really thought it captured the essence of the moment he was having on stage performing. Eyes closed, totally immersed in the experience - amazing.

From a technical standpoint creating this was pretty involved. The level of detail is next level, and I was working in black colored pencil only. This took around 30 hours to complete, but is one of my favorite pieces I’ve done because the level of detail is extraordinary, especially in the face and guitar strap.

I rendered the pencil drawing on a board painted white, then filled in the background with black acrylic paint at the end of the process. Its a showstopper in any room and any private collector will really enjoy having “Willie Nelson - “Spotlight” displayed anywhere they want to make a big impact.”

Clint Eastwood - “The Man with No Name”

40” x 49” - Mixed Media on Board - 2023

$3250

“ This piece was a lot of fun to do, Clint is always a great subject and a “man world” stalwart. This image is from the series of spaghetti westerns including The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and a Fistful of Dollars. Clint portrays the iconic “Man with no Name” in his usual stoic, less is more approach. If you’re a fan of Clint Eastwood or westerns in general then this will definitely appeal to you.

The composition is stark and graphic with the background removed for maximum contrast and character impact. This is also pretty large at over 4 feet tall and will definitely be noticed in any room from any distance. The perfect piece for a Man Cave wall or over the fireplace (which is where I’ve had it hanging in my own home).

“The Man with no Name” was done with only 5 colors and entirely in colored pencil. The background was done in white acrylic paint. “

Johnny Cash -1, 2026

40” x 40” - Mixed media on Board

$4250

“The first offering of 2026, and the very first piece of artwork with its own process video, which can be seen on my channel IansArt on Youtube. If you’ve looked around the site then you’ve no doubt seen that Johnny Cash is my favorite subject, so I thought it would be great to kick off my YouTube channel with a bold Johnny Cash piece.

I used four colors of acrylic spray paint for the background, and 7 colors of colored pencils for the figure. I also employed a few acrylic paint pens for the first time for some highlights and other fill areas - which were fantastic to work with.

This Iconic piece will make a big statement in any room - the bold colors and simple composition invite onlookers to engage and start a conversation.”
